This was off Ray Evernham’s modified stock car. It was a Pinto body. Then my Father converted it to a Cavalier. Common thing to do in the early 80’s. I have more stuff. -

20’s are probably not on the horizon. I was just thinking of a regular car Saginaw 4 speed. I would lose the hanger bearing and have a driveshaft made. I looked up trans gear ratios and this 2nd is lower than most regular firsts. I do understand that this 2nd is what you use as 1st most of the time.- 410 John

I drove my truck around some yesterday. First day on the road, since I acquired it. I actually drove way back in the the 80’s when it was near new. Anyhow, now it’s mine. Things to change list: Lose the glass packs. I want the chambered sound Remove the truck 4 speed. Switch to car style...- 410 John

What have you done to your square lately??
Yeah, the one installed in the pic is removed. The marks on the sides of the caps are because my Father had knock offs screwed to the caps. I can deal with the scratches, for now. Time to drive and enjoy the truck! -

Left hand dipstick
My 83 C10 came with a 305 and my current 350 must be an earlier model with a left hand dipstick. The dipstick is a chrome replacement and very hard to reach and get back in. The master cylinder is dead in the way. Anyone else dealing with this?- 410 John

Took my Beetle to the track
Spare crank in your locker! Lol Here’s a quick video. Basically a stock 1600 with a small cam. I did add dual springs and good pushrods. And it’s a Ko4 turbo, like you find on a new Beetle, blowing into a 40 dellororto. 11 pounds of boost.- 410 John
