    HEI Modules

I picked this one up for about $100 many moons ago. Been good to me. :happy175:

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

Pictures 18, 21, 29, 58, 62 and 86. None are deal-breakers for buying a truck, but those bring it down into the sub-10k territory for me. To spend $15k on a 87 2wd with a mediocre respray, everything else has to be mint.

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

My opinion isn't worth anything, but you can have it. What you did wrong was not selling it at $15k. Too many issues at that price. There's quite a few pics that are

    Doubledingo's 2005 4x4 Tahoe LS

Here's the keyfobs I got. They work great. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFFFRCS2/ And the third brake light, as mine didn't work either. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B6B37K7F/

    Good enough or perfection

My favorite rides over the years have been rough around the edges. My drag car is downright ugly. To quote David Freiburger, "Don't get it right, just get it running." Plenty of time to work on it later.

Opinions on best newish Suburban or Tahoe

A little late to the fray, but any pre-'07 Tahoe or Suburban is definitely the bees knees. I admittedly bought my '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain. It was too nice to gut and I've already put 4k miles on it. Having searched A LOT, most Yukons are also Denalis. Especially 2007+ in my area. Dunno...

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

Well, it was road trip time. And the dumb ---- dropped the motor/ trans and broke the bellhousing right off. I did get a Gen VI 454 for $300, though. Had to drive all the way to the Mexico border. Could see the border wall from the highway, only 1.25 miles south. Out of a motorhome a...

    Wiper blades

O'Reilly stocks all but 16" and 18". Amazon and Rock Auto both have those sizes. I'd expect O'Reilly could order those two sizes.

    Wiper blades

    Trico Classic blades are available in 10" through 18". These are what are currently available, I believe. 10" 33-101 11" 33-111 12" 33-122 13" 33-130 15" 33-150 16" 33-162 18" 33-183

If you converted the power window switch which one would you choose?

I've used the aluminum crank style switches and Contura V-Series rockers. Contura rockers are super heavy duty and I expect they will last forever. The downside to the Contura rockers is that they're almost 2" deep when they have connectors on them.

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

I run 31s too. I'm just on a 2wd chassis, and I like the look at the factory height. I'm keeping an eye out on the Gen VI BBC with 4L80. When it gets cheap enough, it'll be road trip time.

The wife officially gave me her blessing to day. I get to keep the '06 Tahoe and my '78 Burb.

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

I was just going by numbers. No offense taken. There's a Gen VI 454 four hours from my house WITH a transmission. Maybe...

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

According to GM's literature, my '78 was putting out 205hp and 335ft/lb. The '06 5.3 Flex is rated at 90 more horsepower and the same amount of torque.

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

The reason I was planning to part out something so nice is the wife was most definitely NOT on board for another vehicle. I also only paid $2700 for it. Since then, the wife seems to really like it and is now open to me keeping the Tahoe and the Burb. Seems my oldest son has fallen in love...

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

206k, I do believe that I'm the 3rd owner after the second owner got it when their inlaws passed. I think the wife has fallen in love with it and will actually let me keep it AND my '78.

Bought a '06 Tahoe for the drivetrain

Picked up a '06 Tahoe to drive around for the summer, then yank the 5.3 and 4l60 for my '78 Burb. If you haven't seen my post on it, my 454/TH400 blew up. Think I'm also going to lower the floor pan and put the front seats in the '78 as I already have brackets for the matched 3rd row. Got it...

    Dually Fender Attachment

That truck was totaled years ago when a mustang made a left turn in front of me. Just happened to have pics archived.

    Dually Fender Attachment

This is probably the best view of how they work. My fenders were trashed and I took a sawzall to it before unbolting them. Studs thread into the flare, then the flare gets bolted to the fender. Mounting options depend largely on what flare you are planning on using.

    AN fuel line kits

Plumbed 3 vehicles almost completely in steel and nylon braided AN lines, and plan to do at least 3 more. Done a few PTFE lined lines as well. NHRA rules require fuel systems to be hard line, steel braided or NHRA-accepted “woven or woven-pushlock.” They're all track legal cars, so that's why...

    Seat frame Question.....

I wonder if there's a corresponding notch or something in the seatbelt mechanism down there.
