What have you done to your square lately??

i hosed everything down 3 times with penetrating oil tht i got from work. when teh fittings started to move i started to work the fitting (loose, tighten, repeat) until the fittings came out. having a rotted wood bed floor did make it easy to get to the main fitting on the line that you are...

    1? 2? 4?

Yep, it's me again. Still working on the basket case (1981 250 I6) and for the life of me i can't figure out what carb should be on this thing. RIGHT NOW it has a 2 bbl varijet 2 that doesn't look like it belongs on the intake since it seems that someone made an adaptor out of sheet metal to...

What have you done to your square lately??

I was up late last night and the basket case (1981 C10) now has a new fuel pump and the broken front brake line is now brand new. I hope to have all of the soft brake lines replaced by the end of the weekend. Next up is to rebuild the 2bbl carb. I think that it is full of junk and the...

Catalytic converters: does your square have them?

I once wondered about the lack of an air pump and a cat on the basket case and i found out something interesting. My particular 1981 square was built in Canada (vin starts 2g) and for some reason was exempt from all of that crap. i do kind of have an egr (it's fried) and an evap canister and...

    lock plate retaining ring

(picture stolen from aurora girl) the missing piece in question is the nasty little silver ring that can be seen sitting right under the green center section of the lock plate tool. it is the ring that holds the lock plate down and the spring compressed mike

What have you done to your square lately??

i took the basket case on a shakedown cruise Saturday night. i found out that the manual transmission needs more oil, the brakes aren't there at all and the tires suck. it was the best 30 minute "keep the battery charged" ride of my life!
