Has anyone ever replaced the tailgate post/ rear stake pocket post?

How did ya do it? It looks like major surgery to get the old one out. I've got some rust issues in the lower section around the talgate trunnion area and wouldn't mind replacing the whole thing.

    Drivers floor pan replacement

Is this a show truck? Butt weld would be best but I think most people lap weld. Flanging the patch would look better then a lap welded patch. I'm still planing on butt welding my 78 floors, but that might change. as far as fitting, get the hammer out, I'd line up the ribs in the pan so it...

Thanks againn Jerry, I did see Raybuck has the complete rear bed corner. It's alot more then I need but if no one here has a scrapped bed side they can cut a chunk out of, then I'll probably order one.

    Windsheild Frame Rusted

FWIW, If the rust is not in the corners I'm thinking a straight section out of any place on the frame will work, you don't need to have the exact area where your damage is.

Engine stumbles when you hit brakes even with vacuum for booster disconnected...

Well it's not a vacuum issue, so chances are it's electrical, but I'll be damned if I got a clue. It sounds like there could be a wire that gets energized when put in gear under the dash that is getting shorted out when the brake pedal moves and contacts it. That's all I got.

    Fender Nut Repair

The pierce nuts are out there but you'll probably need to buy a pack of a dozen or more just so you can get the one you need. I'd hit a bone yard and see what you can find. A quick search for pierce nuts came up with this...

Not sure if this choke will convert to electric or not, it's a hot air choke now. 17057256 and was used on 77-79 OBP's. There is some play in the throttle shafts, I have never heard it run.

Count the wires on your switch, I think a standard hi lo has 5 wires and the intermittent one has seven.

Stepside Fender to Bed Seam Sealant

Good question, I thought they were just metal to metal. I'll have to look at my 78 but I don't know if they are original fenders.

    !977 K10 Bedsides

Bedsides (inner and outer panel) are easy as mentioned, but if you're talking just the skins, it's like 44tt said, it's major surgery.

Remove Lift and Figure out what I have....

The vin is telling you what the cab use to be on, to figure out what the rest of it is you'll have to find the partial vin on the frame rail, the motor id would tell ya too, if it was the original that came with the frame. Here's how I read it, taken from...
