    How was the roof panel done? Welded? Glued? I'd take a grinder to some of the heavily bubbled areas and see how bad it is. I'd consider a new cab if it all rusted through.

    Thanks Craig, it cost me 70 buck to open that link. First thing I see when I opened it was a pair of stepside steps for $70 and free shipping, can't beat that. FWIW, I've bought some gas tank hangers from them before and was please with the whole deal.

    If smoke came out of the a/c duct then I'd guess it was the blower motor resistor in the heater box that shorted out somehow. if it was coming from around the duct then maybe it was the heater control switch.     I picked up a 60 gallon 3.7 hp 2 stage at lowes... It's made by CH, but I haven't fired it up yet. Price was $500 and that fit my budget.

    I'd like to clean up the rust stained, oxidized vin tag on my 78 but can't think of a way to do it without destroying the painted black lettering thats on it. Or does anyone know if somebody makes a dry transfer decal for these B pillar plates? I can't see restoring a truck to like new condition...
