Putting in the hours & the work but it is closer than it was on Thursday. Now comes all the hook-up & body aligning.

What have you done to your square lately??

Doing rust repair the...easy...way. My old PA K10 is a rusty hag for certain & me & SIL just scored this local C10 as a donor. I really hate cutting up good trucks but this one was advertised as "no title" so I figured I'd use it instead of letting it meet the crusher (possibly). We're using...

    Question about center support bearing.

I changed one out last year and just used the cut-off wheel to remove the center race. I believe it was the easiest center bearing that I ever replaced. I totally agree with @DoubleDingo about it not being easy to go to the parts house and get the correct stuff either. Chinesium and the google...

Welcome from Central NC. I agree with @Moodyalaskan that the rim diameter isn't as crucial as is the tire diameter. Great looking truck BTW. HS

What have you done to your square lately??

Roger that. Aluminum heads is a fair amount already and I don't blame you one iota if you have the time and budget to go the extra mile. Doing a 383 is going to involve machine work on the pan rail and crankshaft area anyway. Keep us informed on the progress. HS

What have you done to your square lately??

To be fair...a machinist ALWAYS wants to bore, deck, square and broach the same way that the doctor wants you to take each test imaginable. Sometimes the budget doesn't include spending the extra cash on many new parts. I have had several "refurbished" or "refreshed" engines that gave great...

What have you done to your square lately??

The 55 frame is flat & the Square frame dips between the engine & bed area. I made some stands to accommodate the difference. I may use the original frame later down the road but what I have concocted now is very drivable & usable. I used a bunch of leftovers to get it together years back so...

What have you done to your square lately??

It is a 2nd Series which makes it like the 56-59 trucks. Being a 6100 it has the wide grille/fenders & they have large wheel openings. I put it on my old trail rig 76 K20 chassis. It's GM Corp 10 bolt front & 14FF rear. SM465/NP205 trans/case with a 350 engine. Here's what I started with years...
