So where it has to bend a bit.
Clean it up good like you’re saying and warm up the trim and the sheet metal. And hold pressure on it a good while after sticking it back on.
If that doesn’t work, small area like that I’d try some thin double sided tape or I might just put a dab of good epoxy on it like 3M 4200. That **** will glue anything together. Sticks well to shiny fiberglass should stick to paint.
