So this one has me stumped, I have an 87 R-10 with a 350 TBI. I have air, fuel and I have spark, although it's a weak spark. Timing is correct, new coil, module, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and a new battery. I'm assuming the weak spark is the culprit, but I'm not sure why. Now I was told this truck ran before I got, so tomorrow I'm going to do a compression test for my own piece of mind and start chasing voltage. Any one have any ideas what I should be looking for??

Just because you see it spraying fuel doesnt mean its the right amount, rent a pressure tester from parts store and check it out.

checked plug gap this morning @.35....notice the ignition switch is not springing back at the start point, in process of checking that out now.

and the fuel amount, I should get hint it's trying to fire, but I have nothing. And the plugs are still cleanish, not fuel fouled.

I cant be much help with a diagram but check your grounds. I had a truck that had a finicky battery to chassis ground and it would cause a crank and no start condition.

Check the ignition switch located on top of the steering column. Old and worn contacts will arc...and also cause a no start issue. Also check that the fuel pump relay is functioning as well.

fuel pump is working, I can here the pump when I turn the key on...the ignition switch is what I'm looking into now, when I get back out to it. I'm thinking it has poor contact and not send the full voltage to the ignition....

Put a timing light on it, and look for a consistent pattern. I just went through this with my 87 v20. I was getting irregular spark and it was cutting out on acceleration. I replaced the pickup coil in the distributor and that worked for about 3 miles, then it died. Getting no spark, I ended up replacing the whole distributor because the magnets for the pickup coil had craped out, my old distributor would spin freely. The new one I can feel the magnets as they passed by when I turn it.
