77 square body no start after replacing ignition switch
At first take, sounds like you lost the little tab that goes between the bottom of the key cylinder and the sector gear that drives the rack that pulls the rod to do all of the ignition switch functions you are missing. Google "chevy ignition rack"- XP29L

All good. Grabbed the push-plate from inside with channel locks and gave it a little love. Opened right up. Thanks!- XP29L

So that's all there is to it, ight? The button pushes that plate which pulls the rods on the pivot?- XP29L

Barn door won't open
What am I missing guys? My new-to-me '77 K10 Suburban won't open the barn doors. I have the access panel off the inside of the right door. I see the plate the button rod pushes on. It is stuck "pressed", even though the button has retracted. The rods seem to be in the "pulled" position, but...- XP29L

My new acquisition
Looks like a battery isolator. Power goes in one, starter power comes from one, and accessories can pull from the other. The isolator will cut power to the accessories before they drain the battery below a certain point to make sure you have enough left to start.- XP29L
