2WD to 4x4 conversion?
Yes you can convert your 2wd to 4x4,a lot of rivets to drill out and hole saw out the front frame for the shackle mount. I used a 79 gmc 1 ton donor up graded the frame mounts front and rear with diy4x heavy duty mounts. My donor truck had the Dana 60 with 4:56 gears and I added the same gears...- Step

HEI Distributor - Do I need to replace any of these parts?

Stock rear-end - how much power
Yea Rear end not decided by engine, my 79 K35 292 6 cyl has the duel wheels with 14 bolt free floating rear and Dana 60 up front.- Step

How do I know if I have HEI, and if I don't have it, should I upgrade
I believe the first Square Body came with HEI Distributors so they all have them. If you put HEI in an older vehicle with the points distributor remove the hot wire to the coil, it’s a resister wire. Replace it with a regular wire.heres a picture of an HEI distributor.- Step
