    Diesel Temp Gauge Accuracy

all going points. I'll take a temp reading before I do anything. I can also test the thermostat that's in there to see what temp it opens at before I start replacing things.

    brake issues

^ I'm going to do O'reily since they can get the parts next day. I was on a few websites but they were all 1 week plus and I need to tow this weekend with it. Any idea on bore size for the master cylinder? Looks like there are 2 that say they will fit my truck. 1.19" and 1.25" my...

    Diesel Temp Gauge Accuracy

Delco 190, Thank you very much. I'm guessing yours runs hotter on the gauge then the picture I put up?

    Diesel Temp Gauge Accuracy

Pic below of my temperature gauge after running at 45mph for 20+ minutes, the gauge never gets above this point and it starts out right at the cold mark so I know it's at least reading something. What temp thermostat is stock and/or what should I run for the 6.2? I'm going to order a new one...

    brake issues

So it seems that Master Cylinder is the place to start. I'll order one of those. Where are you all getting your parts? I'm sure there is a preferred vendor most of you use. I want to make sure I get OEM for something like this for sure. I'm going to refresh everything in there while I'm at it...

    brake issues

Hi all, Issue is when at a stoplight for an extended period of time, the pedal will slowly inch down while holding it and the brake light will come on if stopped long enough. Once I let off the brakes they are fine again. The brakes all seem to work great and the truck stops just fine even...

    Fuel additives for 6.2L

So basically, some sort of oil/lubricity additive is a must. I have a good amount of tcw3 hanging around so I'll start that on my next tank. I'll use up the 2 gallons of mystery oil that I have hanging around too. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

4l80 sounds like the best choice. If I decide to do it $ won't really be the issue, it's having a reliable set up that will last. I'm sure the 400 in there is probably bulletproof so I'd feel silly putting something in there that isn't as reliable. I'll keep my eyes out for one. I'm in the...

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

I would absolutely love a manual trans, but I figure that's out of the budget. I believe it's a 4.10 rear, the fender tag just says "standard" for rear axle, would going to a 3.55/3.73 make a big difference? any idea what rpm I'm running at at different speeds? This truck was straight piped by...

    Fuel additives for 6.2L

Just checking to see what if any fuel additives you guys are running in your diesel 6.2's? I always ran Power Service in my older Mercedes diesel I had and in my boat engines. I did add the Power Service Diesel Kleen stuff to my first tank in the truck, but not sure if there is anything better...

Thoughts on going to a 4spd overdrive?

I'm debating swapping out the trans in my newly acquired '83 burb. It is a C20 with the original (I believe) 3spd (TH400?). I was told it has a shift kit and it does shift rather hard so I'm assuming that's true. It runs great and the only issue I have with it is that I would like to be able to...

Best headlights to use, NOT LED

Awesome, just what I was looking for. Ordered all 4. Thank you very much

Best headlights to use, NOT LED

Does anyone have the part numbers for the sylvania lights? Uppers and lowers for the xtra vision ones if those are the best. TYIA, I want to make sure I'm ordering the right ones. Whatever the best relatively inexpensive option is that I can pickup in store this weekend. I'm on my first week of...

    New Suburban Owner

The previous owner put ladder bars on it for some reason. I also see some skyjacker shocks up front when I was crawling underneath it today, but it does not seem lifted at all. He towed a camper with it I was told, it does have a brake controller in it and air bags on the rear so perhaps the...

    New Suburban Owner

Thanks guys. I think I overpaid a little ($7,500) but it really is in great shape, brand new wheels and tires, no rips or tears inside. I wish it was a 4spd truck, but there were zero options down here for something clean and original like this one.
