The most important advice I can provide to you regarding automatic transmission internal repair is clean, clean, clean! When you think it's good enough, clean it one more time, just because. Good luck -

LS rear main seal leaking
If it's a Gen III be aware that the cam position sensor is also mounted in the rear of block from the top. Sensor is fitted with an o'ring type seal that will not leak from top of block, but rear of block. Learned that while working for the general years ago. At the time the o'ring was not...- Poppy 87

Looks good. You may want to isolate that fuel line away from the coolant hose. Don't want to induce "heat" to the fuel prior to entering the carb -

I worked with a guy back in the 1980's that used one to wash transmission cases. It was in a rental apartment though! -

Chuck’s engine build thread!
2 observations Chuck. Do you know what torque converter that is? That was not installed by the general. If you pulled out camel hump heads, check casting number/date codes. Numbers matching guys will pay $$ for them. Good luck. For what its worth, I always replace cam bearings.- Poppy 87

Intermittent High Idle and Occasional Hesitation on Acceleration
My 87 had similar issue, found worn throttle shaft bushings in throttle body. Caused throttle plates contacting throttle body as well as vacuum leak. Inspect inside throttle bore while moving cable end of throttle shaft. There should be no contact between plates and housing, nor any lateral...- Poppy 87

Vacuum lines for hvac system
PCV is typically post combustion gasses and is considered "dirty air" side. Preferred is "clean air side", direct intake manifold vacuum. LS intake has provision for brake booster, may need to tap into that, but be sure to plumb in a check valve so you don't loose brake assist.- Poppy 87
