Just curious.

Does your truck have its original engine in it?..or just an empty engine bay? Being it's a Silverado it probably came with a/c, p/s, etc. Bracketry will be needed to retain those factory options. Water outlet, may be facing a different direction, requiring a different upper radiator hose. If you...- pnwnvrdn

Dieseling sometimes when hot
Pull/inspect spark plugs, they will let you know how efficient they are performing...I'm of the belief you will need to go to hotter, or colder plug, determined by what you find on your inspection of the old ones.- pnwnvrdn

First time replacing intake manifold gaskets
I use Fel-Pro intake gaskets...throw away the black rubber front and rear seals and run a bead of Permatex RTV silicone gasket maker instead. Distributor timing has already been covered, I will add though, it really isn't as scary as it may seem.- pnwnvrdn
