Thanks alot guys well i guess ill stick with my 400. What kind of aftermarket overdrive would you suggest im open to pretty much any suggestions. I'll try anything three times
I'm really not sure which trans to go on my C20 on 37s. I want better highway rpm but better launching. I was wondering if there was a decent mechanical auto trans with overdrive. I'm trying to be cost effective. I'm on a tight budget.:lazer:
Thanks for the thought I appreciate it. That seems like an awful waste of a perfectly good frame. I would waste one of my father in-laws frames. I could do the same thing by welding the shackles and spring hangers. Slightly more challenging, but doable.
Yeah bucket I'm just going to fix the frame get a new motor mount and make it a 4x4. My father in law has axles and transfer cases galore plus two fully put together 4X4 suburban chassis so I'll just Frankenstein it with the subies. I appreciate all of your feedback and help. I'll keep you guys...
Thanks a lot madogre. I saw something like this on extreme 4X4 years ago but I'm real fuzzy on how exactly. I just scared I'm going to make a bad thing worse. Frakly I'm kind of excited to rip into the truck. I'm going to pull of the front clip so I don't have to use a ladder to work on the...
The wife fell In love with the lift. My father inlaw has a chevy graveyard and offered to help turn it into a 4X4 and maybe I would put a lift on after. Everything he has is from three 3/4 ton suburbans 79 to 91. I forget the other one.
I know right. The power steering works great though, I would never have noticed a problem if I didn't take a look. Initially I was really surprised at how responsive the steering is for being so big with such large rolling stock.
I bought this 73 camper special 2X4 with a "rebuit" 350. It's lifted. Don't knowhow much with 37s. They have two pieces of square tubing stacked on top one another as lifting blocks out back(9 leaves). Out front they have 6 in C channel welded to the A arms with an after market rack and pinion...
