Hi all, I still need help on this, if anyone has a similar experience.

SM465 shift rail position to install shifter, or top plate

Hi, I just wasted a bunch of time trying to get the shifter back into SM465 properly. It kinda went in, but wouldn't shift anything. Eventually I got it in properly, and thought I would document what worked for me for other's benefit: It's all about the position of the shift rails. The pictures...

Tightening down front yoke nut stops NP205 from turning

Yeah thanks. In fact the GebBuilt videos are what gave me the courage to proceed. Since he just became a member, I’d sure like to talk to him… Anyone know how to reach @GebBuilt?

Tightening down front yoke nut stops NP205 from turning

I confirmed that for each NP 205 driving position (4H, 2H, N, 4L), the rail position was correct, and the input/output shafts turned properly. For example, N has each shaft turning (or stationary) independently, 4L has input turning twice for every front/rear output turning once, etc...

Tightening down front yoke nut stops NP205 from turning

Hello, 1980 GMC K15 SM465/NP205. I broke the SM465/NP205 adapter, so I took the time to apply new NP205 seals/gaskets and the JB Fab twin stick setup. I didn't intend a full rebuild, but I wound up removing everything except the idler gear assembly. In fact the front shaft just kinda fell out...

    NP205 shift rail help!!

Hi Kit. Did you ever complete this? I'm asking because I'm about to do the same thing to mine, in order to install twin stick shifters. That requires modified shift rails. I don't have any advice to give you yet, but I can say there is an excellent video by the twin stick manufacturer that...

Anyone running wipers bigger than 16" oem?

I found the ANCO 48-12 Wiper Blade to Arm Adapters. The URL for them that I posted April 7 no longer works. All I can say is I found them at a Gilbert Supply store in BC. They also carry the Bosch Clear Advantage blades. We tried to install the adapter to the blade right on the counter. Didn't...

Anyone running wipers bigger than 16" oem?

I would have liked to get the ANCO adapter that @Turbo4whl suggested yesterday, but that website wants $92.57 USD shipping to British Columbia. Not doing it. ANCO customer support confirmed they do not sell these adapters separately. ANCO's documentation for their 16'' 7mm Bayonet Beam Wiper...

Anyone running wipers bigger than 16" oem?

Thanks very much everyone, I'll check out the link @Turbo4whl provided. And I take it 18" aren't a problem based on comments earlier in the thread (I did see the comments regarding a weak wiper motor).

Anyone running wipers bigger than 16" oem?

I've lost too many wiper blades from my 1980 GMC K1500. After reading this thread, I'd like to keep my original bayonet style arm. I think I'd like to: - Use the J-hook adapter that @bucket suggested - Use 18" Bosch Clear Advantage wiper blade Can you please help with my questions? - Does...

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Ok, got a happy ending. I tested for continuity from the firewall side of the connector (at the steering column) to the bulkhead in the engine side of the firewall, and there was continuity (thank god). Then, with that connector disconnected, I switched to IGN on and was going to jump #19 Dk...

No driver's side rear turn signal or brake light, because no power at bulkhead

Yes thanks, @77Dmax , I have a tilt column. I see the switch on Rock Auto and it clearly illustrates the switch together with the harness, right down to and including the connector I was asking about. The wires are colored correctly as the GM original. I'm going to disconnect the connector at...
