I'm not too sure since that isn't something I messed with. The mechanic that did the engine swap before I first owned the truck said not to mess with it. All I know is that it's an HEI distributor.
The fast idle screw isn't getting hung up on anything after the choke fully opens. Once the...

Since my Carb is off the original '83 and I know "each Quadrajet was tuned for a specific purpose", could the difference in heads, block, and intake manifold cause the engine to idle higher? I have M4ME with 71 Jets and 49M primary rods. It's on a spacer (Mr. Gasket #3406), and...
Any update or progress? I'm surprised the Painless Wiring #20205 wiring harness wasn't mentioned here. Seems to be pretty popular from what I've read. https://painlessperformance.com/product/27-circuit-classic-plus-customizable-1973-1987-gm-truck-chassis-harness-part-no-20205/
I was just curious because I'm debating if it's worth new heads, intake manifold, and carb. As much as I love the quadrajet, it's becoming more of a rarity for replacement and tuning parts. For the same price I can just get a brand new edelbrock and tuning kit.
Yeah I saw that and it didn't match up with 5.7 on the rear side of the block which leads me to believe that the lime book is incorrect for my instance or I am really really really missing something
I guess it depends on what your definition of "help" is. I have a dual plane intake and put a single plane phenolic spacer under my qjet incase it was soaking heat. It created more vacuum surprisingly but the right side idle mixture screw doesn't really do anything unless I completely take screw...
Howdy y'all, I tried looking up information regarding what I could find on my engine. Guy told me it came out of an 89' suburban. I have the following stamps:
Intake Manifold (came of the original 350 my truck had so...83' w/modifications to fit the heads) - 14057055
Heads - 14102193 "Swirlies"...
I really like the priority list idea from BlazerBill.
Maybe it's out there already but a thread post containing rules, roles, and forum etiquette would be appreciated. I am in between Millennial and Gen Z and I know I'm not the only one. I spent my early years socializing online through online...

I put this together based off Lars' version at the corvette forums. Put it between the carb inlet and end of the fuel line that connects to the carb. Tailor it to your needs ofc. This...
I just replaced my (probably original) pinion seal on the front 10 bolt gm corporate diff and found it as part number 458858 which corresponds to the 8622 seal on the National Oil Seal company catalog. Posting here for posterity
I replaced the hose, which was a Gates 22187, with a Gates 22013 using Dorman help 14186 spring hose clamps
Here are some pictures

After:
The spring hose clamps I used because I had to buy/return several times to fit
So far no issues
