Would have rather edited the first post with this info but I can't figure it out. Here is a list of parts I used from Amazon. Everything else was purchased from my local napa except the drivers side battery tray from LMC truck. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/2JTX2T6NHCWZ6?ref_=wl_share

Now where did I leave off? It runs! I've driven it probably 20 miles and already did the MAF tuning.Driving across the river without exaust to rhe muffler shop was fun but its super quiet now. In my garage I couldn't get it above 145 degrees and remembered I never did replace the thromostat. Im...

I can't remember where I read it now but I remember someone saying the range was linear and if the range was off we could just add a resistor to bring it back to the correct range. I may set up a science experiment in the kitchen involving both sensors when the wifes not looking. :) Minor...

https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1678789-ls-guys-doing-swap-3-wire-coolant-sensor-conversion-part-numbers.html Bextreme go read through this and see if I'm interpreting it wrong but my understanding is this specific part is a 2 wire "sensor" and a 1 wire "sender" in 1. 1998 would...

Funny you brought that up. I drew up the diagram last night just so I could wrap my head around it and came to the same conclusion. I settled on the avalanche 1 pin sender and the ict 16mm blockoff plate because the 91 sender is 1/4" npt. Hopefully its still a 90 ohm sender. All stock for now...

You could have tapped into the green wire on your 3 wire for your temp gauge same as I could have run 1 extra wire to the front and swapped my 2 wire for a 4 wire firebird sensor. It was just easier to separate them as the gauge wire was already in the right spot (pass rear) so im using the...

need recomdation for custom LS swap harness

Your motor doesn't care what gear its in. Does the truck not have neutral cutout for the starter already? If so you dont need that plug at all.

Yes Don't forget the corvette tensioner. Link to a good writeup I used for this bracket if anyone in the future needs it. http://www.ls1truck.com/forums/lsx-truck-conversions/47384-holley-ls-r4-c-bracket.html

You guys are nuts, those things are spendy but they sure last forever. That one under the truck is at least 20 years old. Got the power distribution all finished up including relays and actually fastening the fuse box down now that I'm happy with where it will live. I haven't moved into the cab...

No keeping the factory 91 sender with the fuel pump cutout in tact. That way my gage has the correct sensor and my engine has the low oil pressure protection by shutting down the fuel pump if pressure drops below 4 psi. I lost an engine (ford) a long time ago when the oil pump drive off the...

    LS swap

They are just the modern version of what the sbc 350 has always been. Cheap, plentiful, and an abundance of aftermarket parts and knowledge to go along with it. I never heard anyone call the sbc 350 a meme when guys were stuffing them into Harleys and snow blowers. Back then, if you wanted to...

I almost pulled the trigger on a 1 wire (smaller) oil sending unit to replace the factory ls sensor sense the ecm apperantly does nothing with oil pressure that I can see. Then as I was figuring out what I needed to do to bypass the 91 sensor it dawned on me i should keep it as GM intended. When...

So my current time waste today has been fretting over this damn coolant sensor issue. The way I understand it is the 1 wire sensor that came off my 5.7l is 3/8 thread and the gage measures its resistance. Currently at 40* outside it measures 4Kohm. Per the book it measures 55 ohms at 260* and...

Haha far from it, but I do see Alot of this at work and always love how neat it looks so I figured I'd give it a shot. Spent most of the day soldering, heat shrinking and routing these wires today. Even re routed a few factory 91 wires I didn't think looked like they belonged anymore. Its...
