    front fender gap

I kinda had the same issues. I bought a repop passenger side fender and the fitment was aggravating. I could line up the A pillar well, but then I’d have a massive gap at the core support. I think what I ended up doing was loosening the cab body mounts, core support mounts, and the whole front...

    Vintage Air: Weekend Install?

It depends if you included it in your purchase. I had to, they don’t make a mount for the inline 6. I think a basic mount should have been included but can’t be sure.

    Vintage Air: Weekend Install?

It’s really not that bad once you have everything out and apart. If I remember right I did it in two weekends, and that’s only because I had to fab a compressor mount out of the air pump mount on my I6. I think the most difficult part was getting the box in by myself. I even did the vacuum and...

Need help with 85 Sierra running rough

It sounds like what my truck was doing, except my issue was the PCV going to the charcoal can was sucking loose charcoal into the fuel bowl (no clue how). Truck would idle fine and even drive for 5-10 minutes but the minute you gave it any gas after that it would croak. Could start it back up...

    Kinda confused, need some assistance

You’ll need the long tie rod, a short one and the adjuster sleeve. They all should say 1” on the description screen. I’ve been told the 7/8 and 1” interchange no problem. I think Moog is your best bet for quality.

    Penetrol vs. boiled linseed oil

There is a company called Sweet Patina that sells a mixture called patina sauce. I’ve seen very good reviews for it. A different route if you’re interested

    Cowl cleaning surprise!

I lathered mine in no shrink flexible silicon and then flex seal over that. Correct way to do it? Probably not. Will it leak? Probably not.

Ideas as to where this problem is coming from?

If not the heater core check the seal/weld at the cowl and firewall. That’s where mine is leaking.

    charcoal ingestion

The guy I bought my truck from had the fuel bowl vent hose attached directly at the charcoal can. Somehow the pellets made it up that hose and into the fuel bowl

    Steering gearbox rebuild

Check the rag joint first. Rebuild won’t tighten it up because none of the hard parts are replaced, only the seals and o-rings

Steering Gear Rebuild... did I fail

Took it all the way down. I would imagine the bearings are in correct, it turned smooth on the bench and was moving just fine until I bled it with the pitman off. All my ball bearings were the same color too.

Steering Gear Rebuild... did I fail

I guess I'll take it completely apart once more tonight and will look to see if I screwed anything up.

Steering Gear Rebuild... did I fail

Preload was set the same as when it came apart. I don't have a torque wrench but I didn't change the sector shaft setting from when I took it apart. I took the pitman arm off a minute ago and turned lock to lock trying to force any air out. Hooked it back up and refilled the fluid, no I can't...

Steering Gear Rebuild... did I fail

I took the plunge and rebuilt the steering box instead of buying one. Overall it wasn't terrible, the hardest part was getting the teflon seal to seat in the housing. Once reassembled I turned it through full range of motion and everything was smooth and quiet. Installed it back on the truck...

    Chevy 250 Exhaust Manifold

I've looked around and can't seem to find any information so hopefully y'all might now. Has anyone seen this exhaust manifold before? I know people make them custom but I don't believe that is the case with this. If someone does know, is it true dual or just dual output? Eventually looking...
