Oh I just saw your post, very interesting I think even the the vibration is gone for now the grand mount did seem to have a fair bit of movement... I should really replace them maybe moving the transfer case down is firming the mounts up by putting pressure on them??
So I lowered the trams another 1/2 and the output shaft defiantly went in further and the noise is gone, weather it's gone for good not sure but seems good and feels good on the highway.
There thing I could do is put those zero rate springs in the rear because they apparently can help u either move you axle forward or backwards if you need it, then I could get back a bit of the length in that output shaft? Or can I get it lengthed for cheap??
So I just doubled checked my universal joints the one closest to the diff has a hair play on one side more than the other but fairly minimal, but I was looking at everything and the out put shaft on the transfer case seemed to have a little bit of play, not much but a little bit, about a month...
Hey my 88 k5 blazer is making an odd noise when im in 3rd of 4th when I'm going around 50 and up only when I let off the gas. It's not a constant noise it intermittent and won't do it every single time I take my foot Off, and I can feel the vibration slightly in the floor board? I checked my...
Good to know ill defiantly adjust the steering that way, and I did notice I had a bit less steering radius than before so maybe I will do that 2" drop arm
Ya i realized after that it doesn't need to bolt up but the problem i had was the head of the pin barely sticking through so there wasnt quiet enough to index the axle properly. so what i did was i weled on a longer head enough so that it sat in the hole on the axle properly and it worked great...
Im shimming my rear axle 4 degrees down after my shackle flip and the shims I have have a 1/2 hole in the center but my pin is 5/16 so it slide right thru... The shop I bought them from says it's fine only f a little bit of the pin head sticks thru? But I thought u bolt up the shim to the pack...
Ya that's what I meant 3/8 lol, so I actually cancelled my order an tomorrow will pik up a set of 2.5' lift springs for the front so hopefully it'll e an easy install and no shimming needed, that what I'm really tryin to avoid
Ok perfect I'll gonna get them tomorrow, so another question is it a really bad idea to lift the front 1.5" with shackles?? Will it mess up the pinion angle on the front? Their 3/16 thick and grea sable bushings but wondering if I'm gonna have alot if trouble with them...
Ok sounds good how thick are the shims for 4 degrees? I'll look at how long the center pin is also just to confirm I'm shimming the axle to point more toward the ground? Thanks for the help by the way
So what your saying is the flip caused my diff to point up more and I need to angle it back down to get the correct angle or close to? Why do I need new pins? Just for length? I replaced them a year ago
