My 1980 k10 gas gauge is stuck at just below half a tank. I have read a lot of threads about this, but they all have dual tanks and my 2nd tank has been removed. Could missing the 2nd tank be my problem? If thats not the problem what would cause this?

From looking around I noticed the stepside fuel filler hoses aren't available anymore. I was wondering if someone could post a picture of what the stock setup looks like so I got a idea for when I make one? Thanks in advance!
