ok so update.. When checking guage cluster for power.. i pulled all guages out. The back lights were so dim! I inturn used a test light and as soon as I touched power ... the light got brighter. But the bulb itself seems to be kinda loose. I then used a multimeter and it has 7.4 volts continuous..
Just working on the guage cluster. nothing but issues. I was riding the other day and without headlight switch all guage lights came on. Right signal comes on when left signal applied. when right signal applied gas guage bounces. Gas gauge isnt working.. etc. What grounds the guage cluster...
Ok so, this cluster f*** of a truck is driving me insane. First had no tail lights. So i wired them direct to switch to come on when switch is pulled. Then headlights/ running lights burnt out. I then changed the headlight switch and was back to normal. Now the truck has no dash lights, the oil...
Is there any way to jump the motor to see if its the issue.. I took a test light to all connectors and doesn't seem to have any power... Fuze is good, should I back track to steering coloum or?
Anyone know if the steering coloum from a 90s style will work. I seen some 88s with the thick steering wheel and looks like a bulky steering coloum. Anyone done this?
My fuel gauge acts as a flasher when the right signal comes on.. needle bounces down to less then e, then when signal is turned off, guage slowly climbs up..
Also my truck has a edlebrock intake and a holly carb. Intake has no vacuum outs and carb only has 1... The one vacuum is being used for the transmission module.. Does something need to be connected to the control unit of the heater?
I will tear the truck apart again tomorrow, Riding around in cold temps with windows fogging up not safe.. Im pretty sure there all black hoses. I will take some pics tomorrow
