    T-5 or T-56 Manual Trans swap

    If you're thinking about going with a used T56, you would be better off getting a kit from Tremec. I went through getting a used T56 for my 92 Z28 that was supposed to be good and had to have it repaired, and I could have gotten a new Tremec for not much more than what I have in the used one.

    I did mime myself, striped clear coat with paint stripper and sanded started with 400 grit and worked up to 2000 grit and then polishing compound and then Mothers Metal Polish.

    Thanks for the effort Jake, it's too cold for me to get out and do anything too. If you run across them it will be great if not I'll figure it out when the weather warms up and I get back to working on it.

    Mine is the same way, the right side is just a little bit lower. I've changed everything but the leaf springs and the body mounts.

    VAL do you have an update on your seat instillation? I have a 60/40 seat out of a 98 Tahoe with the same brackets as your seat. I want to put it in my 86 Silverado.
