K10 14bolt swap now rear brakes lock up before the front
You didn't say what diameter the rear wheel cylinders are. I believe that they come in 1" and 1 1/8". The larger bore will give you more braking pressure than the smaller one. So if you have the 1 1/8" rear cylinders, try the 1"- chevdude

Blower Motor Fan Speed does not work on High
It's actually called the blower resister. Typically, the high speed quits first. Also, a good indicator that your blower motor needs replacing- chevdude

Just make sure Mom is centered on the rubber pad, if your jack has one. And mounting a seat on the floor jack is a great idea. Adjustable height. It's on wheels. And your kid can pump you up when you need to pee. -

Driving full time 4wd with front drive shaft removed
Never really heard of bad things happening by doing this. I have a conversion kit. Never got around to installing it. The kit instructions say that, after installing the kit you should run the case in 4 hi occasionally to lubricate something inside there.- chevdude

Welcome and have fun with the truck. Those factory radios that GM used are actually pretty good sounding radios. Mine cranks plenty loud and clear. Providing you're not using just the center dash speaker.- chevdude

Driving full time 4wd with front drive shaft removed
If you really want good results, put some lockouts on your front axle and remove the front drive shaft. Unlock the hubs and put the tcase in 4hi. This will totally disconnect the front axles and gearset from turning. Your steering will feel better on slow, tight turns. They make conversion kits...- chevdude

He you go This K10 shortbed came out of Arizona about ten years ago. Some guy brought it up, painted it white. Originally was like a dark metallic green. Something happened to the guy and his brother sold it to me. No patch panels. No rust. Still sprinkles red dirt on me when I get underneath...- chevdude
