    87 tbi 350 popping at idle and running rich

    Fuel pop from the exhaust sounds like injectors. You're over fueling. I had the same problem. It was bad injectors. Turn on the key and see if any fuel gets past the injectors. If the injectors leak or spray, the injectors are bad.
