Quadrajet too rich!
Your carb 17085226 has a solinoid in it to cause a double pump in the idle circuit when cold. If its stuck open that maybe the problem.- bob seifert

voltage guage

'86 C10 temp gauge
Thats a temperature sensor but not to you temp gauge. It controls the solenoid in you carb that its attached to. I believe to deliver more fuel at idle while cold.- bob seifert

1985 c10 dual capacity pump system
Ok this is installed on 85 and 86 c10's. must be a need. Ive seen it posted that disconnect it and every thing is fine. Then why is a extra shot needed between idle and part throttle. but if you discount it it fine.That's crap. It wasn't put there for fun. The quadrajet was designed for economy...- bob seifert
