    TH400 leak

Hello all, I have a 77 Chevy Scottsdale that has been sitting in a garage for about 10-11 years it has been in the family since new. It has just over 100k original miles. I have gone through and tuned everything up. The truck runs great but I haven't taken it on the road yet. It sat for a couple...

    Can it be saved

Alright guys. I’m about road worthy. I do have a problem though, I have a transmission leak. Truck sat in one spot for the last couple weeks and I have about a 4” puddle of transmission fluid under it. I moved it and ran it for about 15 minutes and ended up with another 4” puddle. Looks like...

    Can it be saved

It’s been a while and I have been busy. The truck has new brakes all the way around and new brake fluid. New plugs, wires, and cap, new power steering pump and belts and coolant flush. It runs great. The only thing I notice is that after I let it run 10-15 minutes the temperature gauge never...

    Suburban Project- Need Help!

No need to apologize Sen No need to apologize Scenic. That’s a bad ass truck. I’d love to have something like that for my crew of kids. If it were me I’d rebuild the engine you have. I’d keep it as stock as possible. I live up in Northern California so I understand the smog issues. I’m a...

    Can it be saved

I don’t mind, scenic needed the help. Although if he starts his own thread I’d like to fallow along. As for my truck, it now has new tires, new battery, a fresh oil change, and topped off the transmission fluid. It runs just fine. I plan on redoing all the brakes and new plugs/wires cap and...

    Can it be saved

Just an update on my project. I took some advice from some of the members that responded on my original post, shot a little 30wt in each cylinder and cleaned the spark plugs. I turned the engine over by hand a time or two, let it sit about a week. I put a new battery in it and fresh gas, filled...

    Can it be saved

About 20 years ago in high school auto body class. Painted the whole truck. It’s held up pretty well, garaged most of the time.

Awesome. Thanks for the encouragement. My great grandfather bought the truck new in 77. Spent most of its life in a garage. It’s pretty clean. Had three kids and let it sit for to long. Time to get working on it with them. Thanks again.

    Can it be saved

I have a 77 Scottsdale that has been sitting in the garage for 10 years. Hasn't been started in probably 8 years. I drove it there though. Original motor with around 150k miles. My question is, what are the chances I give it a good tune up and look over, drain the gas tank and put fresh gas in...
