Thank you for the reply's Grit Dog and 82sbshortbed.
I have a Holley 650. From what I've read, that should be OK. Not too much or little. The intake I have wasn't designed for peanut port heads. So I'm going to find one of the Edelbrock 2161's.
The reason I asked the question in the first...
I get that your a TBI fan. But you still gave no good reason NOT to use a carb other than you don't know how to pump a carb three time and hit the ignition when it's cold. Like I said, I've never had a problem. Thus asking what the advantages are.
Been on here a while and never had anyone get...
Can you elaborate on what part of "drivability will suffer" you mean? It won't run with an intake and carb? Gas mileage will go down? Won't start, idle?
I've had many pre TBI square bodies and never had any trouble with them running great. My last was a 72 1/2 ton with an 305 and a stock...
Can I get rid of the TBI and wiring mess and use a Edelbrock or Holley carb on my Stock intake. I believe the TBI sits on top of the adapter. If so I would like to use it for a while until I get to the rebuild of my engine. I don't know what kind of Carb. I can use. (spread bore, quadrajet...
I would like to replace the burnt, broken and brittle wire plugs and nozzle connectors. Does anyone sell them?
I looked all over online. Maybe I'm not searching the right parts?
Mine is a 1989 454.
Any help is appreciated.
I'm guessing that the last set is the date of manufacture. But the rest have me wondering.
The only thing I can find is the 30809 number is obsolete, but it doesn't have which rear end it fits.
Thanks in advance.
I was rooting around under this truck I just bought and found the vacuum modulator line is off. I thought they connect to a hard line and go somewhere to the intake manifold. But I can't find any lines going down from the engine. It's a 454, TBI.
Does anyone sell the hard line?
finished rebuilding my speedo today. Ended up using a tooth pick for the broken Needle. raided my wife's nail polish for something to repaint all the pointers looks good enough for me.
Thank You for the replies gentleman. I am going to be converting the intake and TBI back to the dual plane/Holley carb set up that I have. I have the HEI already as well.
My truck is the 2WD Dually so no transfer case to mess with. I read that there are an array of controller options as...
I am wanting to start looking for a 4L80e transmission for my 1 Ton Dually. I have a TH400 right now that needs to be gone through. Might as well go up to an extra gear since I'm doing a lot of travelling.
Mine is a 454 TBI and the Dana 70hd rear end. I'd like to find a good core but don't...
I broke my speedometer pointer by accident.
LMC and Classic Industries don't have them from the look of it. Anyone replace on before?
Thanks in advance.
I'm getting ready to buy my parts for the rear differential on my 89 Chevy R3500 dually.
Can someone tell me which diff oil is best? I.e 75/90, 75/140 etc.
I'm probably going with Royal purple or Lucas.
Thanks in advance.
