    Im thinking the same, but also that high pressure doesn’t necessarily equals good flow? If, say, the oil filter was clogged, the pressure would still be high, but flow would be poor? Will the gauge peak even more if pressure was 80? Or does it stop at approx 60 no matter how high psi is? Like...

    Thanks. Heres a picture of a cold start today on high idle. Medium idle drops it to just over the 60 psi mark. About 10 degrees celcius in my garage.     I guess its time for an update. Replaced the rotor, distributor cap and cleaned the carburetor. Result: truck never ran better in my ownership! Much better throttle response, more power and better acceleration, especially uphill. Im calling this solved (as of know )

    Pulled the distributor cap and pulled out the rotor also. Coil measured OK according to the Haynes manual. Did not seem to bad in there.

    Thanks a bunch! I will be checking the cap and rotor today and see. I hope the specs are listed in the Haynes manual. I’ll probably replace them anyway as they are original to the car as far as I know. Next step will be the vacuum gauge and maybe a carb rebuild if it doesnt solve the problem.
