Hopefully this is the proper place for this .....
Has anyone successfully installed power steps or Power boards to our SQ. bodies?
I contacted AMP research and Powerboard, neither have a kit for our application and suggested possibly fabricating a set. I may try this but I don't like reinventing the wheel...

Thanks,

Haven't seen anyone with a set. I doubt it would be all that hard to fab up a set of mounts. Could even ask one of the manufacturers if they could send you the specs required to mount their kits with the intention to purchase a kit from them, but need to make the fabrication changes first. Then get it all put together and working.

Unless you're rolling in a k5 or burb, you may have a hard time working around a set of saddle bags. Will probably require a bit of tricky thinking, but I don't see how it would be impossible to put a set on our trucks.

So I just found a new/used pair by AMP research. I think I am going to purchase them and give it a go.

Did you ever get this going?

I did not, it ended up being a 1/2 kit. The major issue for me is the saddle fuel tanks. The boards would end up short (tanks in the way) and closer to the front fenders. There would be no issue If your fuel tank is in the rear between the rails.

So you just went with something stationary?

Do you happen to know if there is something comparable that will fit on my burb? Maybe the longer version of the set you were looking at?

I did not do any step. So your burb has the fuel tank between the frame rails in the rear. I dont see any reason why you would not be able to fabricate a set of brackets. Take a look underneith i dont think there will be anything in the way when the step folds.

Bringing this one back up. With saddle tanks I don’t know if amp steps would be possible but would the Aires actiontrac steps possibly work?
