Aftermarket dash cluster

Anyone see any clusters that fall sub 800 that have physical traditional gauges? I like digital. but 600 is a lot, and nice new clusters with analog are usually more. I dont want a rebuilt set or used. Mine works, but the plastic is so brittle and id rather have one that is gonna be reliable for years yet. And have a tach. And look nice. If not, I can get digital.

Do you mean the plastic overlay is brittle? You can replace that only and it be nice clear clean plastic overlay. Of course that doesn't add a tach.

I know of Dakota Digital and they are quite pricey, plus you'll need senders and converters for an analog speedo to a digital speedo so it gets even more expensive.

No, the backing material. Everytime ive taken it out(3) it breaks more and more. Locking tabs for bulbs, screw holes, needles on gauges. 40 years of rough living has made it so.the board at the brake fluid level warning is bad, which is one dummy light i could use. And I would go to a GPS speedo, the tires I use are definitely not stock.

that is actually helpful, thanks. But like i said, needles are brittle and disintegrating, Board is going bad. So its kinda pissing in the wind at that point. But if I get another one, maybe combine parts between my clusters for 1 good one

I made my own. I used Sunpro mechanical gauges and an eBay tach (which is malfunctioning, so time to find a quality one, which is tough in 2 1\8" ). Still used the factory Speedo and fuel gauge.

You could use the factory small gas gauge or aftermarket and use a factory tachometer or just a large one for that hole. Speedhut makes good gauges. But like I said, hoping for plug and play

As far as I know the Dakota digital set comes with senders and everything you need.

I was aware it came with senders for the gauges and I could be wrong, but if your speedo is analog now, it's up to you to convert the transmission to a VSS so the Dakota Digital can read it.

It looks like I might put mine on a shelf and eventually rebuild it. I can get the conversion tach and new plastic.. but that still leaves me with needles that fall apart ever more each day. If I can buy needles or just the individual gauges again it would be a good project down the road. I really like how the blue LED pops the cluster in the one post on this forum recently. Be cool to see it at night. But I might go and get one of the intellitronix gauge clusters.

I'm probably wrong, but I swear the analog style Dakota's I was looking at, the speedo was gps.

And it might have been. That would be cool until you got in thick clouds and fog.

Well I think most of us could temporarily go without working speedo if it meant no attention having to be paid to tire or wheel size and either a sender or cable off the transmission. Now if I had a cable there and it worked and I had original tire size, hell yes Id do that. But since its not there, I personally will prob do GPS route just to save extra physical work. One mechanical device that cant break is a way to see it.

I have intellitronix digital in mine , less than $400 and has lifetime warranty , had a issue with their coolant temp sensor not long ago , contacted them and they sent me another one within a couple days , I've never had any other issues with them , bright during day and night , comes with all sensors and sending units needed , ( I highly recommend a tach filter as well to prevent rpms in tach from jumping all over the place but that is in the instructions as well , and make sure everything has good grounds .

A vent left of knob? Where is your wipers then?

Also, I see we have the same horn pad setup.

I am thinking of getting that brand for the price and then having a new cluster without mechanical failures or weakpoints.. Such as needles breaking from sun. How did you gets your sub 400? 700+ last I checked
