Yep, use some carb cleaner and clean that number good dawg. It does sound like a cast # but sometimes an 8 can look like a 3, and 8 like a 9 etc if you don't have it good and clean. I wish you were closer too, I have 2 TBI head cores off of a 94 and one of them would probably hook you up. Just match it up. I have seen so many motors in my past that have mismatched heads and that just disgusts the hell outta me. IDIOTS !!! Just bolt on whatever they got and go with it.

The only tbi heads available for the LO5 were the 193 swirl ports.

14101083 350 285HP, or 300HP, Crate Motor, 1.94-1.5, 72º intake bolts
14102193 305, 350, 87-up, 7 bolt ex.

I thin I am going to buy a set of aftermarket heads for this motor. They are made with a thicker wall and made specifically to replace these heads for the cracking reason.

Well, I spent the day yesterday cleaning up the intake manifold and swapping stuff over from the old one. Also found that the oil cooler fell of it's mounting brackets on the radiator support and was laying on the front bumper bouncing around. So I drilled out the old rivets that broke and remounted it with stainless rivets. I also removed the AC condenser, and had to fab new brackets to hang the aftermarket trans cooler.
