Want to change running gear fluid

Any recommendations on aftermarket pan with drain plug or just stick with oem? I don’t think it’s leaking currently, but can’t be sure as the truck is almost always parked over dirt, grass or gravel.

Those are a good pan, you can put a drain plug in if you want, just use a good gasket and you won't have leaks.

No chrome. Something aluminum and finned. Also look at the yards at 1 ton vans and trucks. Unless your yards are like here and the poke holes in the pans to drain them.

My 1 ton pan is 3” from the bottom of the pan to the mating surface.

Just drill a hole and weld a nut on the inside of the pan?

Only problem with that is you can’t drain it all then. And trans fluid is very much attracted to the floor. I’ve used O2 sensor bungs already welded to the outside of the pan.

Why in your guys opinion would the US Gov’t order the cucv with the np208 when the 205 is regarded as the stronger option by 4wd enthusiasts?

I see some came with the 205 when PTO equipped. But the majority seem to run 208s. Cost saving measure? Ease of maintenance?

Haha, I’m allergic to chrome. I can’t stand it, no offense. I make exception for guys who like to keep an old caddy or bel air stock, but I’m not a personal fan.

I use the cheapest oil that is recommended because i change my fluid and make sure they stay metal free "my gmt800 I go about 1k under engine oil recommended,500 for the rest if not a little more "for the motor i use a little more expensive stuff i like ams oil for that"
