Got an '01 Pontiac Aztek GT for next to nothing. Has a Heads Up Display, sunroof, really nice interior except the dash is coming apart (typical Texas), paint is nice except the hood. Going to be a fun project, need to find the tent and mattress for it.

What makes it a GT? These things have always been a mystery to me, I've only worked on a handful of them.

Also, I'm surprised how quickly these rigs have disappeared. I can't remember the last time I saw one.

I know, I see a couple every now and then but most I see are in the junkyard.

The GT has the little A on the back door and a different interior. They also came standard with the slide out tray in back. GTs were 2001 only.

I love the HUD in this thing. Only Pontiac HUD to light up red and it shows an arrowhead and says PONTIAC on startup.

Took it out yesterday just for a short trip. Now I am having a problem passing emissions, some systems aren't ready so I need to do a drive cycle but doing on where they put stop lights on freeways is hard. Hopefully next week I can start dailying it and semi-retire the van.

Yeah, I need to find a new dash.

I'm actually considering Bonneville Swoopies if I can locate a set. But that's well down the road. Now I just want to find a matching 3 spoke so I can get new tires, these are dryrotted.

Doesn't that emblem add like 400lbs? It was funny how the GT badged cars out weighed the lower level cars.
