Have you ever heard of a 1985 GMC High Sierra k10 with 4speed 4wheel drive transfer case that has no way of changing in to 2 wheel drive. this guy is saying that it is factory with no lock hubs. So the truck is always in 4 wheel drive from the factory. It can be changed from 4locker low to 4 low to 4 high and 4locker high. i have never heard of this can you please give me some feedback

The NP203 transfer case is full-time 4WD, ie no provision for 2 WD unless modified. My 75 Blazer is like this.

I am not sure if the NP203 was used in 85.

That is definitely an np203 shifter and it is definitely not original to that truck. The last year the np203 was used (by manufacturer) was 1979. The only tcase offered in an ‘85 K10 was an np208.

That’s a 70s cab too, likely, considering the 70s dash and the 203 shifter doesn’t look transplanted.
That t case was only offered til 1980 I believe. Is it a 70s truck with an 80s front clip? Steering wheel looks 80s too possibly.

That's not an original truck. 70's dash pad. '77-prior cluster bezel. '78-later steering wheel. NP 203 with incorrect shifter bezel... the range indicator should be encompassed by the boot bezel. The truck also seems to have a 3" body lift, due to the amount of 203 shifter sticking through the floor.

And as was mentioned, the full time 203 was used '79-prior.

Also, the truck is an automatic but has the little brake pedal. The only trucks that got the little pedal was a manual trans, or an automatic with manual brakes. Pretty sure 4x4's came standard with power brakes.

Man have you got an eye for detail. I'd have never caught that,I didn't look that hard. What year is that oil pressure gauge?

Never seen a factory K10 set up like that. They normally have 2H, 4H and 4L. If it’s always in 4WD it was probably modified or the hubs/transfer case setup was changed.

As stated above, that's not an '85. I'm gonna assume that's some kinda thrown together hodgepodge of a truck. If this is something you're looking at buying, I'd be very weary of it. Pretty sure full time 4wd was gone by the time the '81-up trucks came out

There's a whole lot that ain't right with that rig BUT when dealing with 40+ year-old trucks there is plenty that can be "modified" or "repurposed" among these Squares. I see your handle of 72 Camaro and am disappointed that we did not get a pic of that. Welcome to the site and I'm just taking a cheap jab on you. I have had my 72 Camaro for over 30 years now and appreciate the opportunity to see other folks' builds.

Lol, I actually am pretty good at those. A bar I used to frequent had one of those as a bar top game.
