NICE!! There is a 2wd version of this truck in my hometown. For the rest of you 'gentlemen'...
Quick update since I posted this request... remember when I called her my 'Frankenbody'? So it holds true yet again. I do NOT have any black ground wire coming out of the firewall connector at all and started chasing back under the dash again. I found a 2nd horn relay up in there?!? So not sure if the wiring harness got swapped or what because it also has the horn relay out on the core support. Most likely got swapped at some point probably to match the 'newer' guages in my instrument cluster. I have a volt meter in there yet the interwebs tell me I'm supposed to have amp meter. (no wonder it doesn't work even when everything is connected correctly!) lolSo since I've been chastised for posting and disappearing (which is going to happen all the time btw) I'll ask my question and hope for an assist.
I've been trying to find the black horn (ground) wire that should be going to the horn relay mounted on the core support. I have NO black wire in the bundle that goes along the drivers side from the firewall to the core support/headlights. Seems like the newer years have their relay near the fusebox in the cab, so the 78 and on up guys can't help me out here, but our 75s still had em out in the engine bay. Anyway, I've traced the wire down the column and to the back of the fuse block, but without pulling it out to see, not sure where it goes from there. Im actually looking for which pin on the connector block it comes out of in the engine bay. Or does it?? since its not fused in the fuse block, but powered from the fusable links at the power junction on the firewall. Does the black wire come through a different cable bundle?
Thanks in advance...
Yeah, a '75 definitely would have had an ammeter originally.Quick update since I posted this request... remember when I called her my 'Frankenbody'? So it holds true yet again. Anyway, I'm going to chase this wiring and see if I can get it to work even though there is no horn fuse in the fuse block

The black wire you are looking for does not run through the fuse box connection. Since you have a Frankenstein truck, There may be a second relay from the other model. This guy will show you where the factory put the relay in your truck. So since I've been chastised for posting and disappearing (which is going to happen all the time btw) I'll ask my question and hope for an assist.

Yup, that is in fact where I found my 2nd relay! Now I just have to find out if that circuit works. I've found 2 sets of wiring diagrams. 1 set shows power coming through the fusebox with a fuse to the in-the-cab relay (my fusebox does not have a horn fuse) and the other set shows power coming from the junction block via a fusible link... since I didn't have a horn fuse, I assumed (yeah yeah yeah...light me up for it) that I was supposed to have a power cable coming from the junction block and a ground coming from the firewall to the 'other' relay I found mounted to the core support. The black wire you are looking for does not run through the fuse box connection.
