I have a c30 and k30 frame and I am wanting to have a four link plus shortened frame truck. The plan will be to bob the frame so a 40 inch tire is just short of touching the cab (hopefully).

The question is would it be blasphemy to cut my 4x4 crew cab frame down instead of the 2wd crew cab frame? Is there really an advantage to the k30 frame when going to a complete link setup and shortening the frame?

If building a truggy, I'd definitely start with a more common (less desirable) C30 frame. I don't see how any factory mounting points of a 4x4 frame would be of any benefit to you.

They are the exact same frame.... the only difference is in the front suspension mounts. I agree with bucket that there are far more C30's out there though, so if you are going to be fabricating a whole new setup with custom axles/suspension/frame work, I would start with the C30 frame.

Just to keep my stuff in one place, does a guy bob the bed just enough to be able to use a blazer tank?

Or do you go with a fuel cell close to the cab, thinking possibly just using a blazer tank again and fabricating brackets to hold it in place just like a fuel cell.
