I have a 1985 C30 dually and I’m wondering what years rims will fit this truck? 16” 215 85 16

I want to stay hubcentric to the right size. I am thinking sometime in the 1990s the rims changed but I am not sure

Style changed when the gmt400 C/K3500s hit the market. They also went to an M14-1.50 wheel stud and a different style lugnut.

Been trying to find a good set of 16-16.5” steelies for my gmt400 K3500. The truck currently has C20 (60psi max) grade alloys that won’t support 85psi 14 ply LT235/85r16s. Probably end up with Dodge wheels before it is all said and done. They fit both SB and gmt400 like they were made for them.

GM dually wheels switched bolt pattern in the 2010 or so model.

Aside from ply ratings not being an actual metric for LT tires for decades, I’ve never seen a 235/85/16 LT tire that has a 14-16ply (load range G or H). Only trailer tires.
I presume your K3500 is a srw truck by your description (C20 wheels whatever those are). Any and all GM 8 lug wheels came with 80psi rated tires and the PYO alloy wheels from the GMT800/900 (3/4 and 1ton) era are rated at 3800lbs iirc. They’re skinny 16” rims made for that size tire.
If you’re shooting for that huge tire/rim capacity over 4klbs I don’t think you’re gonna find it in any srw wheel that would be part of your consideration. You’re in 19.5s territory or some aftermarket srw 18s are rated at 4500lbs but there aren’t pizza cutter tires with similar load rating to put on them.
Yes all Dodge/Ram 8 lug wheels (srw never had a dually) that I’ve seen work well on GM srw before they went to the different lug pattern. I put 17x8 Dodge alloys on a couple GMT 800s. Economical way to wipe the ugly PYO wheels off the truck and be able to mount a bigger/wider tire economically and look good at the same time. GM lugs and center caps worked with them too. But not what you’re after if you are looking for the highest possible load rating.

My truck is a 1t 4wd c&c dually. Stock wheels are steel 16x6, LT215/85r16D ran at 65psi for a gvwr of 12,000 per the finished vehicle builder.

I got it with 4 Eagle Alloy bullet hole dually wheels, 16x6, rated for only 60psi max. Which puts it firmly in load range D, formerly 3/4t territory.

I run LT265/75r16E AT rears, 2” spacer between them. LT235/85r16E AT steers.

Load Range F and G are available in LT235/85r16 from several manufacturers, including cheap Atlander RTs. Can also he had in LT255/85r16 from the same sources.

I’d rather run Power King 9.00-16LT or Michelin 11.00-16, but neither are available new in North America anymore. Current tarrif policy negates having them shipped in from Brazil, Argentina, Chile or Peru (cousins in each).
