Hotrod, you really should put up a 700r4 rebuild on here, im debating either me doing it, or taking to the local college and letting them.

I'd love to buddy. I've got about 8 700r4,s 4 of them being the good ones and 2 of those are 4x4 Units. I need to build me one for myself and I fully intend to do a major write up. Just a matter of getting the funds to do it. I have about $650-$700 in parts I want for it. I want it to be able to raise hell and hold up. It'll be a test unit for abuse for sure. Unless i just have to suck it up and cheap out on it.

Major things going on at the moment. Hopefully someday I'll get it done. Not much going on with trucks though sadly, but I have a feeling after all said and done, I'll be all up in the trucks and building axles and transmissions.

I know you're referring to your thread, I don't think that's what anyone meant. At least I didn't. They just need to be properly built and not expect them to last 100K in a heavy use type application

Yeah, and notice my comment below yours, I am going to spend $650-$700 in upgrades to TRY and build a stand up unit. And it'lll be a test unit for abuse. For real, noone is giving you bad info. I'd say go for the 700r4 in a half ton daily driver, but that's about it. Past that, unless you know how to build transmissions and do it often, I'd avoid it for your 3/4 ton. The 4.10 gears are good for it, and the stock OE tire that you're running is good for it too. But you mentioned the dreaded word, "TOWING".

89S Tows his boat with his Burb and 700r4. He doesn't use OD and only tows it couple miles from his house to where he docks and probably doesn't get over 40mph.

1low, atm im gonna be running my 4.11's on 32"s, then eventually step up to 4.88's on 35"s. Which will reduce stress even more.

I was joking since everyone seems to think a 700r in my 3/4 ton wouldnt work even though 1/2 ton suburbans carry them no problem. I also have 4.10s and 31" tires not to mention a large trans cooler

I think you just got all the red flags when you mentioned TOWING. That and 700r4 usually don't go well in the same sentence. I updated your other thread since you mentioned it's more for daily driving.
