well, now we're going down a different route that makes the debate we're having obsolete LOL Sounds like you'd be building more of an off road buggy kind of truck which is cool, also, and ideas are endless and you go put as little or as much money into that as you see fit. :)

Haha, I'm really not sure what my end goal is just yet. I'm just making everything safe and functional, then I'll decide where I want to go with it. It won't be a full on restore though, the truck was in too rough shape when I got it for that. Then again I only paid $1k for a running driving truck.

Makes sense to me. Gotta make sure your base is solid before you can start planning for the fun stuff. You're going about it the right way :)

This is my first project vehicle, so I'm learning as I go. I'm sure I'll make a few horrible decisions along the way, but it'll be fun.

Yeah, if you're planning on getting mud and other crap into the cab from your feet any kind of rubber or bed liner material would be ideal.

I parked them side by side in the yard today. Sure wish I had a damned garage. Plan was to use the 85 C-20 as a parts truck, but decided to build it once the tan one is done.

Well we went to O'reillys and picked up a 7mm wrench and a set of bodywork tools! We cut a little more and argued about fitment issues. After surfing the net I found the answer and we now have a plan of attack. And I do mean attack. We are not going to fool around now. Ahh-sounded good didn't it? yeah. Ok. We will see.

Looking to buy a 87 TBI c10 model truck. I found 1 with a 5.7 and 4 on the floor. Did gm make 4 speed models then. Are they rare to find if so?

Mods please delete. Not sure how This ended up here LOL. Sorry OP..

The 87 TBI K20s with a 4spd SM465 are fairly common

Just driving it, seems the more I drive it the better it runs. Maybe I'm finally working all the sludge out after it sat for like 6+ years. Can actually do 75-80mph on the intestate now with up to 10mph headwind, last fall I could only do that speed with a tailwind :)
