I got new doors off an old suburban for my 73, along with some other spare parts.

Welcome to GMSB Taylor. When you get a minute, fire up a new build thread for your 73 in the Under Construction section and post up some pics. :waytogo:

Whoa, looks great. I just had my intake manifold off of the 350 tbi in the wagon. I cleaned it up and was pleased that it just looked clean again. This puts my work to shame. Really nice stuff there.

Lol the holly 750 is getting a makeover too
So far I'm liking it
Hopefully it'll be done soon for you to see them together

Bought an in/lb torque wrench and a timing light. Retorqued the intake manifold to 11 ft/lb or 132 in/lb, and glad I did, it was loose. Torqued the valve covers to 20 in/lb. That was a guess but is also the lowest setting on the torque wrench. That took 4 times on each side to get them even, the intake took 3 passes. Then timed it and routed some spark plug wires and vacuum & egr lines better, since my friend that helped me swap in the vortec heads last November didn't route things very well.

Took it for a test drive and I am thinking my suspected rear main seal failure was just the loose intake and valve covers. No fresh oil smell, no drips, and it ran nice and smooth and very strong.

Oh yeah. I put on a rear view mirror that Retro sent me. Now I can use my sun visor the way it was intended, and can see behind the truck a whole lot better than before.

finished up the body work on dads 84 yesterday, laid some primer on it, and then did the tailgate, didn't get any pics though I forgot.

I found the braided fuel return line had a rub hole in the braid. Rather than replace the length of hard line I ordered up a 37 degree flaring tool and some AN fittings to repair it. I'm re-plumbing for a different fuel injection system anyway so it isn't a big deal.

Cool, sounds like more of a permanent fix too.

After months of being inactive i have finally finished my truck (for now). Over the course of several months my dad and I have done everything from replace all the rust replace all the damaged body panels even cut a long box into a short box. I personally primed painted and did the body work. This has truly been an amazing experience between my dad and I.
