I recently purchased a 1984 GMC 3+3 crew cab dually. Truck has a 454 with a 3spd manual w granny gear. I rescued her from a field where she was laid to rest almost 9 years ago. I managed to get it running after rewiring the engine compartment due to rats eating just about every wire. I look forward to reading more about these trucks and sharing any knowledge I may have.

Nice truck and glad you were able to rescue it! Gotta love the relative simplicity of a square body that makes repairing the factory harness feasible. My dad's '96 F350 has been ravaged by rats just sitting under the carport, and it's gonna be a pretty good undertaking to make it right. We've had a few GMC guys joining, and I'll offer you a tip that I've offered them. You can restore that grille easily and save some money. Regular matte black for the louvers, Krylon 1403 for the edges, and Rustoleum "Lobster Red" for the letters are what I used for mine, and it turned out great. Just be very thorough when you tape it should you decide to undertake that. Welcome to the forum!

Great Save !!! You've started off with a good one. Just FTI, proper description is 4 speed manual transmission with Granny gear. Cuz it has 4 forward speed one of them being a Granny Gear. The transmission is a Muncie. Model # SM465. SM for Sycnro Mesh 4 for 4 speed. Welcome to GMSB.
