Going to change standard instrument light bulbs too LED bulbs I was thinking about using the cool White, wondering if that would be too bright? Has anyone change theirs.

Some LED replacements are polarized, some not. If one doesn't work, it'll take out the entire lot.
You can forget dimming them. They are a current driven device, not voltage. They'll either be on or off.
Cool white will be fine.

They were installed in my truck when I bought it, its a nice upgrade just dont use them in your CEL,Brake or turn signal lights they will be annoyingly bright,

Why should I not put them in the blinkers and check engine light? Just asking

I put the 6000k white leds in all my dash lights including my aftermarket tach and heater controls. They wont be too bright. Might be the kind i used but i wish mine were brighter still

How many bulbs will I need, I was thinking about 8 would that be right? Oil temp, clock, voltage, water temperature speedometer, gas gauge and High Beam lights.

I bought mine from ebay. No name chinese jobbies. 20 of them for $7. Idr how many i used because i changed them all... turn signal indicators, the dummy lights such as brake, the wiper and heater control.
