It was still called a Blazer then. Tahoe name came around '95 or '96, to go along with the new Tahoe 4-door.

Now hold on just 1 minute. I think the Blazer stayed Blazer for a year or 2 even after the 4 door came out called the Tahoe. Then later, it became 2 door Tahoe or 4 door Tahoe. NO? Be interesting to nail down though. You could be right, maybe they did both at the same time, but I was thinking GMC did Jimmy, Yukon, then Yukon XL became the GMC Suburban, where as used to, both Chevy and GMC shared the Suburban name. All that changed right in there togehter in the mid 90's IIRC.

I gotta run, so I'll let you research that and find out for us Andy. :sumo: I'll expect the facts when I get back around 10pm Central time. :grd:

Yep, That's Not a Squarebody. That's the GMT400 Bodystyle. Same exact powertrain you just got rid of though.

So is it a blazer or is it a Tahoe lmfao its cheap and has new motor and transmission that all work flawlessly and he is gonna smog it before I buy it

Your still welcome here though.

Yeah, close enough, just a step down though since you now have a ***** independent aluminum housing front axle. And you thought a 10 bolt or Dana 44 front was weak???

Well see the plan is to swap that IFS junk out and put a mans front axle in its place because going rock crawling in an IFS truck is like having unprotected sex I just won't do it lol

The other nice thing about Straight Axle in place of the IFS axle, is the natural lift you get out of it. So be prepared for that. You probably won't need a lift kit for the front, but will have to do something in the back to level it off.

Yep, I was always told to leave the house with protection cuz you never know who you might meet.

So from what the badging I can see when I looked at it better it is a Tahoe and the reading I've been doing say the Tahoe brand started early 92 as a trim package and after looking at the door tag again it shows 9/1991 which would make it a 92

I know by the body style it's a 92 or later. It's for sure a GMT400 bodystlye and not a square that ended in 91.

As a trim package, yes. My '91 S-10 is a Tahoe too.
