looks for the little pod on the ps of the intake next to the carb, that tells you if you have egr or not.

if you mean on the intake you want to be buying setup for egr, same deal look for a triangle shaped mounting pad on the PS on the intake. Should have a round hole and a rectangle shaped one.

egr and carb really don't make much difference, egr just has a vac. line going to it no big deal. So egr carb non egr carb basically same thing. You don't want egr, block it off in your intake with a block off plate, or buy one without egr on it.

Only problem is emissions, if you have emissions testing you may not pass without egr.

Seeing as how we are on the subject of EGR's, I have this question. If you eliminate the egr, will it effect how your vehicle warms up? As in will it take longer to reach operating temp? I drive my truck in the winter occasionally if the weather warrants it. I would like to eliminate the EGR but have been warned about this situation from several sources.

I don't think it would bother anything not enough to notice. We don't have egr's and we drive in the winter, never had a problem.

The only thing that will change is there will be less carbon build up in the intake.

My vacuum line is plugged. Does this do the same thing as removing the EGR?

Yeah, so long as the EGR valve isn't stuck open at all.
