You're looking at alot of body work, a flux wire welder from Harbor Freight for about $120 might be the ticket. I used the hell out of mine, till I used it up. I got the welder, 2 spools of wire and an auto-darkening hood for under $180. Your only other option would be panhead screws, pop rivets and brazing.

It works well, but you still need a tack weld here and there. You want to do it while the glue is still soft, otherwise the tack weld will melt the cured glue and cause it to lose it's grip on the metal.

I gotcha! Good tip :)

My local guy gets his stuff from DAR, but I buy from raybuck automotive, from what I've seen they were the cheapest, bought 2 door skins, rocker skins, cab corners, and upper wheel arches from them.

73-87chevytrucks has some stuff, not sure if it's cheaper or not though. I now I saw a 5 piece cab repair kit on ebay, and capt. kaos on 73-87 was the same price.

I also second welding, I tried panel bonding BS and it sucked, would not hold anything, ended up cracking around the edges, and had to put rivets in to hold the pieces, and it still cracked. So sometime soon the 84's bed is gonna get stripped, upper arches welded in place and repainted.

I aint worried about pretty. It can come out looking like a fukin Mad Max truck, as long as it's structaully sound, *** the pretty ****. And I aint buying a welder, so I will look at other avenues, i don't care if I have to use 1/4" bolts and nuts and plate washers, I'm making this suka SOLID AND FUNTIONAL.
