My '87 V1500 doesn't have dual shocks. I don't recall any of those trucks coming with a dual setup from the factory but that doesn't mean they didn't.

Why do you only have one leaf spring? Those trucks came with two leaf springs on the front.

You know that in '87 they were no longer K10? 2wheel drives were Rs and 4wheel drives were Vs.

My 78 has dual shocks but there an add on. I was going to take half off because I think it might ride better? If there riveted on I'd say original for sure.

I can barely see the 2nd one hiding under.

That why I was wondering. I dont want to buy something thats not a normal K10 V10 1500 kinda thing. Im not familiar with all this 4x4 stuff. The guy wants $1800 for this so thats not chump change to lose if it dont fit LOL

Ok so they are factory. Was there a reason. Heavy Duty frame? or suspension? Im just trying to
understand here.

Here is another question. What frames were interchangeable with my 85? is it 81/87? Thanks again

What's to understand? It was more common back then, but quad shocks were popular among the off-road crowd for more control.

You don't have to keep it that way. You can revert to singles if the quads are too cool or too much damping for your purposes.

Factory. I'm guessing the leafs are like that because it rode rough with the quad shocks lol

If I remember right, GM cut the shock valving in half on the quad shock pair, so it would take longer to heat up the oil in them while off roading.

My 84 came factory that way, but its hard to find aftermarket shocks that have the reduced valving (may not be the proper word) and putting 2 aftermarket shocks on each side usually makes for a harsh ride.

Edit, changed wording above to avoid confusion.

Right. The factory quads used completely different shocks than the duals. Most aftermarket ones use the same shock as the singles and just add another one.
