I was told by one of the guys I use to work with, the company that did those extra cabs was in Cali. You would buy a long bed, send it to them, they would make it a extra cab short bed. He said he had one back in the 80's. He also said he paid like 6000 to have it done. I asked him were it was, he said he got drunk and totaled it. I would love to find one, 2x4,4x4 I wouldn't care.

I would imagine he's kicking himself now for that little accident!! $6k was a lot back then! These days that would have been a $15 or $20k conversion I bet for something that extensive. Did the paint job come back factory quality I wonder?? :hmm:

There is a guy that owned a wrecking yard in my home town that drove one. It was a K10 extended cab, grey color. Only one I ever saw in real lie.

The paint looks darker on the back than it does on the front door and fender/hood.

Imagine one with a short bed - bagged and slammed.

Yeah.. no doubt.. one slammed and bagged would be off the hook...
hmm... wonder if anyone could photoshop something like that on here?

I also love to see the 4-door crew cabs, with 4wd, AND a short bed. Now that is an even more rare sight! You seldom see them with 4wd.. I dont know why they did not make very many.. I saw a lifted 85, 4wd crew cab with a short bed in Pismo once.. although I am pretty sure GM never made a crew cab short bed. The frame must have been chopped in the middle and shortened 2 feet. I also saw one on C-list that had a 454 in it.. it was hella clean and he only wanted 4k
