    I'll snap a pic and post it. I tried separating the two springs, just as a test, and that wasn't strong enough.

    A little update: I replaced the spring, with no change in stiffness. But, I continue to break cables about every 500 miles. It doesn't snap the cable, but the cable pulls out of the crimped piece that connects to the carb linkage. I keep putting $15 O'Reilly specials on it. I think I'm going to...

    There is a gasket there, buy Oreillys says they can't get them. A fairly trustworthy gearhead I know said you can just use RTV right there, but I want to use a gasket since there is already one there. I haven't looked online yet, but what do you guys think?     My truck has some leftover emissions parts on the exhaust manifold. They weren't bothering me, but they got kind of bent up removing the engine. What's the best way to get rid of it?     Help me diagnose trans/clutch issue.

    Pulled the engine and trans out today. The clutch and pressure plate look decent. I'm going to put a new clutch in and get the surface of the pressure plate turned. Probably going to replace throwout bearing while I'm at it. I did notice one concerning thing..bellhousing was missing two bolts...
