Silicone on a rubber gasket?

I never can remember which gaskets you are or aren't supposed to use silicone with.

You can use silicone if u want to, just snug the bolts till it dries then tighten them up all the way

Don't use RTV with that one, just a little dab in the corners (next to crank, not corners of pan) is all it needs. be sure to use the bolts that come with it too, they are longer.

Are those gaskets that much better than the four piece? I have never used one.

Yes, they are an EXCELLENT gasket especially for the price. You can even reuse them (another reason for skipping RTV).

The reason silicone is not recommended is because, in some areas of the flanges (mainly the outer four corners), it can act as a lubricant.

This can cause the gasket to squeeze out from between the faces during the tightening process.
