Gasket between sm465 and transfer case.

There is a gasket there, buy Oreillys says they can't get them. A fairly trustworthy gearhead I know said you can just use RTV right there, but I want to use a gasket since there is already one there. I haven't looked online yet, but what do you guys think? RTV or gasket?

I got one in a seal/gasket kit I got for mine but cant remember where exactly it came from, more than likely it was rock auto.

I often make them since parts stores often can't locate them. Gasket paper is cheap and goes a long way.

I heard you dont want metal on metal there it will damage it. Ord sells the adapter made from aluminum not cast. Dont know if makes a difference or not. I couldn't find it by itself either had to get the whole kit. I got it ftom a local company that only sells gaskets. everything you can think of was cheap to.
